Location: Washington, DC
Multi-office, highly respected law firm is seeking a Practice Group Coordinator. You will work closely with the Co-Chair for the firm's Government Division in the Washington, D.C. office in identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic business development plans, and conducting and analyzing market research for the Advertising and Marketing Practice Group.
Additional responsibilities include developing, implementing, and managing project plans in conjunction with firm marketing staff; regular client interaction on new and existing matters; assisting the Division Co-Chair on administrative matters related to the management and growth of the Government Division; and attending meetings and national events with and on behalf of the Division Co-Chair.
A minimum of five years business development experience required. Additional requirements include a minimum of three years marketing research and analysis and project management experience.

Your responsibilities will include: reconciling the daily docket, review and docket all incoming U.S. correspondence and PTO mail, and maintain the current docket of all due dates for U.S. patent cases. The department is going to add foreign and trademark docketing to this position but you do not have to know have this experience.

Litigation Support Supervisor (LSS) BJA299

Mid-sized law firm seeks a Litigation Support Supervisor to provide litigation support and project management expertise in support of the firm’s many practice groups. The LSS will act as a liaison between the attorneys, technical staff, and vendors to produce effective technical solutions based on the attorneys’ functional requirements. The LSS will determine if the case needs can be efficiently met using internal resources, vendor resources, or a combination of the two. When using vendors, the LSS will manage the selection process which would include RFP creation, proposal review, and vendor recommendation. Once a vendor is selected, the LSS will manage all vendor related processes to ensure that the product is delivered as designed. When case needs can be met using internal resources, the LSS will work with legal assistants to effectively manage the organization of electronic documents. The LSS will be responsible for database design, data conversion, processing of native and paper files, preparing data for review and quality control.
Responsibilities: develop and support Concordance databases to manage electronic documents; coordinate all aspects of the imaging process including the scanning, coding, and OCRing of documents; provide training in the use of litigation support tools for litigation teams and legal assistants; provide trial support including the coordination of equipment rental and supporting the trial team before, during, and after trial; managing litigation support services provided by outside experts and vendors; creating and maintaining reference guides and procedure manuals relating to database configurations and functions; developing and maintaining best practices for the use of litigation support technology; identifying and documenting standard routines for the use of litigation support technology.
Requirements: extensive knowledge of Concordance, the IPRO Tech Suite, Law 5.x, Microsoft Access, Case Map, Live Note; strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to assist in the development of cost effective solutions; ability to work and communicate effectively with vendors, attorneys, clients and staff; ability to exercise independent judgment within broad parameters; ability to act and work independently; strong oral and written communications skills; ability to multitask; knowledge of network topologies, communication protocols, back-office operating systems; Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange are a plus.
